A Christmas gift that sparkles: choosing moissanite jewellery

5 mm moissanite solitaire stud earrings in 925 sterling silver

Jewellery is one of the few Christmas gifts that gets worn every day. A single sparkling stone is also one of the safest choices: it suits every style and goes with everything. Here is how to choose a moissanite piece as a gift, and how to make sure it arrives in time.

Pendant, studs or both?

A solitaire pendant is the classic: one 6.5 mm stone that catches the light just below the collarbones. Stud earrings are the easiest gift if you are unsure about style, because they are small, timeless and worn every day. If you want a gift that feels complete, the set combines both, and the set saving is taken off automatically in the bag.

Which size looks right?

Our pendant stone measures 6.5 mm, the diameter of a 1 carat round diamond. It is clearly visible without being loud. The studs measure 5 mm each, about the size of a 0.5 carat diamond, which is the size most people wear every day.

Chain length

The pendant comes on a 925 sterling silver cable chain of 40 cm with a 5 cm extender. At 40 cm the stone sits at the base of the neck; at 45 cm it falls just below the collarbones. The extender lets the wearer choose.

Why moissanite makes a good gift

  • More fire than diamond: moissanite splits light into colour about twice as strongly.
  • Hard enough for daily wear: 9.25 on the Mohs scale, harder than sapphire.
  • Honest: lab-created, named for what it is, with no mining.
  • Set in 925 sterling silver, including the chain and posts.

Order in time for Christmas

Orders leave within 1–3 business days and arrive in 5–10 business days with tracking, anywhere in the EU. To have your gift under the tree, order by 10 December. Delivery is free from €59.

If it is not quite right

Unworn pieces can be returned within 30 days of delivery in their original packaging, on top of your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. So you can give it with confidence.

Keeping it beautiful

Sterling silver lasts for years when it is taken off before swimming and showering, kept away from perfume and stored dry. The stone itself does not cloud: a little warm water, mild soap and a soft brush bring the sparkle straight back.
